Dr. Bibekananda Biswas, Associate Professor of ophthalmology was born on 20.08.1968 in Dhaka,

Education and training: Upon completing his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College, Dr. Biswas went on to obtain his FCPS in Ophthalmology under the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also holds a diploma in Community Ophthalmology issued by CITC and Fellow International Council of Ophthalmology from UK. Dr. Biswas has received postgraduate training from National Institute of Ophthalmology (NIO&H), Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Ishpahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital. In the past few years, he has contributed in five different publications.

Experience: Dr. Biswas has worked as a consultant in BNSB, Khulna prior to dedicating his time at Dhaka Progressive Lions Eye Hospital, Narshingdi where he held the position of chief consultant. Currently, he is an associate professor at the Lions Eye Institute and Hospital. Over the years, he has performed more than fifty thousand cataract surgeries .Dr. Biswas has dedicated his life in the field Ophthalmology since 1994.

Family: Dr. Biswas’ family is currently residing in Ontario, Canada, where his wife, Dr. Kanta Das (Ex. Consultant Radiologist, BIRDEM Hospital), is employed in a reputable institute and his daughter, Aira is attending McMaster University to obtain her BSc in Life Sciences.
